THE HISTORY OF REPTON PARK

The origins of Repton Park date back to 1887, when the Claybury Estate was purchased as the site for a pioneering new hospital.
Following a design competition between seven architects, the commission was awarded to renowned Victorian architect George Thomas Hine. His vision created what became Claybury Hospital, one of the most advanced healthcare facilities of its time.
Designed to accommodate approximately 2,000 patients, the hospital operated as a self-sufficient community with its own farm, bakery, kitchens, boiler rooms and water towers.
Following its closure in the 1990s, the site underwent a remarkable transformation to create what is now Repton Park. The historic buildings were carefully converted into luxury homes whilst preserving their extraordinary character and architectural significance.
Today, Repton Park stands as one of the most successful and desirable heritage developments in the country.
